Somatic Therapies Of Depressive Disorders

Although the main clinical properties of depressive disorders are similar, there are various symptoms of each one. The variation of symptoms of depressive disorders effects the treatment strategies. Besides psychopharmacology and psychotherapy that are used for the treatment of depressive disorders, somatic treatments are needed in some forms of depressive disorders. Electroconvulsive therapy, light treatment, transcranial magnetic stimulation, sleep deprivation that are used for the treatment of depressive disorder are reviewed in this paper.
